China Exchange is leading the engaging “A Summer Celebration of Chinatown Heritage” this summer. It is a project to curate, highlight and share the tangible and intangible heritage of the area with the public. In recognition that there is little available to visitors in London’s Chinatown to help them interpret, understand and appreciate the history of the area, this project will focus on promoting the precinct’s special heritage both as the focal point for the London Chinese community and incorporating the pre-Chinatown Soho story.
A team of Chinatown heritage champions will offer guided walking talks of Chinatown for this summer’s visitors, in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Tours will be provided twice a week, and more frequently if there is demand. A small sum from each tour ticket will be donated to the charities offering welfare services in Chinatown, and any remaining income retained by China Exchange.
AAAHA is pleased to be China Exchange’s history partner in delivering this project.
